Although my background is in accountancy, I’ve lead a wide variety of teams over the years, from IT to HR, Legal and of course, Finance. Throughout my career in leadership I’ve always been closely involved in coaching, taking great joy in watching people in my teams flourish and talented individuals grow into their careers. Now with Expertunity, I have the excuse to spend as much of my time as possible doing just that, without all the other responsibilities of running a large department.

The Internet coupled with cheap data wifi offers the greatest entrepreneurial opportunity ever, but people skills will never disappear.

In both activities I take an intuitive approach to the process. Having coached so many over the years, I almost instinctively know how to handle each group, or subject matter expert in need of a little bit of direction. Relationships are very important too, and I try to be as honest, open and transparent as possible. In fact I don’t think it can be done without honesty, and trust.
