If you lack the confidence or ability to present your ideas fluently, cohesively, intelligibly and impactfully, then you’re unlikely to influence effectively.

Questions you can ask yourself to improve:

  • Have I considered actively working on my presentation skills via a training program or speaking group (e.g., Toastmasters)?

  • What opportunities do I have to practice my speaking?

  • Where might I get good feedback about my current skill level?

  • Are there interesting books I could read to hone my knowledge of effective techniques before practicing?
